Description of work
The Finnish case studies
examine how individual subsidiaries of multinational
corporations (MNCs) located in the town of Varkaus and
divested from Ahlstrom corporation maintain and
strengthen their position in a dialogue with the MNC
headquarters and other subsidiaries. The focus of the
studies is especially on the way in which the
subsidiaries obtain and exploit resources from their
regional and national environment. The research is based
on fieldwork, expert interviews, secondary sources and
action research.
